Rule changes for PCL38
2 Mar 2018 11:00- In the future, the PCL tournament will start after Week 9 of the regular HT season (a week later than now).
- Teams still playing in their national cups at the time of their group matches will lose 0-5 by walkover (as it has always been - until this season).
- Teams simultaneously playing in the Club World Cup (if it still exists next year anyway) will be allowed to challenge their opponents in Single-match challenge (this will not be necessary in the group stage though, as the CWC starts a bit later).
- In the rare cases when a team has to play at another team's stadium but has no other option than sending a single-challenge (thus "stealing" the home advantage), -2 goals will be deducted from his score in compensation.

Announcement
25 Feb 2018 23:00The match Pistoleteiros - Brune Stjerne Egholm should be recorded as 4:4. They played it as a single-match challenge and it ended 4:4 by the 90th minute; the extra time shouldn't count because group stage matches are not played by the cup rules.
However, the final result of the match will be taken in consideration in arranging the standings in Group C, which means Pistoleteiros finishes as group winner, and Brune Stjerne Egholm as runner-up (their points and goal difference is otherwise the same).

EHF Europa Cup
10 Oct 2017 11:00
Starting from this season, there will be a second-tier tournament related to the PCL, called EHF Europa Cup. The 8 quarter-finalists from that tournament will substitute the 8 teams finishing 4th in their groups in the PCL this season, thus establishing a promotion/relegation system which will start from next season.
The 3 annual PCL winners will continue to represent Europe in the HIFFA Club World Cup tournament.
Announcement
